11 yro having trouble following directions

Question

The private school my children attend requires the use of tablets instead of books. My son has had trouble using it properly. It was stripped of all access to games and online media; however, he has still mismanaged his time doodling on it with drawing and Excel. It has interfered with school work earlier in the year. He's not allowed to take it into his room, although he does from time to time. His dad and I really like the school but are concerned about having to monitor this until he graduates. We don't know if it would be in his best interest to put him in the local public school where there are no tablets. His older sister, on the other hand, has used her tablet for school purposes only. Thoughts?
