Hi There. We have a 12 year old son whom we adopted at birth. After many years of waiting, we just adopted a newborn girl. Our son loves her very much and is very loving towards her. But, he is acting manipulative towards us. For example, he is not quiet when we ask him to be when he is going to bed and the baby is sleeping. He lashes out and says that we care more about the baby than we do him. Asking him to be quiet almost assures that he wont be. We have gone out of our way to make him feel secure of our love for him and are mindful of making this adjustment as smooth as possible for him, but he still lashes out, acts selfishly and in an entitled way. Do you have any advice for us on how to handle the lashing out?
