Question
My 5 year old daughter has always been an excellent sleeper. We have never had a problem with the bedtime routine. She has always gone to sleep rather quickly without any issues. Within the last couple of months, she has started saying she can’t go to sleep, or she doesn’t know how to go to sleep, etc. unfortunately, she usually doesn’t fall asleep until 9:00. She used to be asleep by 7:30-8:00. This also causes behavior problems the next day because she is tired . I’m not sure how to handle the situation. Should I give consequences for her “messing around” for over an hour after putting her to bed? Should I ignore it and hope she eventually get out of this phase? I’m stumped.
Thanks!
