Question
My 13 yr old son is disrespectful to his Dad! My son knows how to push his buttons to the point my husband says hurtful words like "you're a bad human" and loses control and starts to yell. I do not agree with belittling a 13 year old or yelling when you are the adult but I also agree my son is being disrespectful which needs to stop. My husband recently took away all electronic device rights for 7 days. I totally agree. My question becomes how to communicate to husband to stop yelling when son pushes butttons & how can my husband build respect back into the father son relationship? Does the punishment meet the crime? Should the punishment be timed? When would it be appropriate to return his privileges?
