Question
My four year old daughter, in the last year, has a habit of not taking responsibility for actions. Instead she makes up a story about the event. Recently, she made up an "bad twin" named Maya (not my daughter's name) who she gives the blame to. For example, she was being stubborn recently, and when I called her on it, she said "I'm not [her name], I'm Maya." I said, "Well bring my daughter back." So she laid down on her bed and pretended to sleep for a few seconds, and then "woke up" and said, "Oh hi Mommy." I told her I was glad she was back. She was upset that I didn't like Maya. Is this making up an alternate personality so she doesn't take responsibility something to worry about, or something to ignore?
