Question
We have had our 2 year old grandson since birth and have finally started adoption proceedings. He is a Fetal Alcohol Effect baby and is dealing with a number of delays. We have a speech, occupational and physical therapist work with him weekly. He has balance problems but it seems to be getting better slowly. His mother, our youngest daughter drank heavily during the entire pregnancy. He has a very difficult time going to sleep, tossing, turning constantly. It's anywhere from 1/2 hour to 2 hours every night to get him to sleep. When he does fall asleep it's like someone simply turns a switch and he instantly falls asleep. This may be beyond your ability to help, but no one else has any answers. He wakes up frequently during the night sometimes screaming at the top of his lungs. Any suggestions to help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
