Question
My 5 1/2 year old boy is having a hard time transitioning into a spanish immersion kindergarten. He's acting out by being very disruptive and sometimes "play hitting"/horsing around.
We had implemented the strike system a couple of months ago for other behavior and now, anytime he hits someone at school, that too is an automatic straight to his room when he gets home from school.
He says it's because he doesn't understand what they are saying in class but there is a translator teacher aid to help if the kids have any questions. I know he's uncomfortable in this new situation and I know we can get through this.
My husband is beyond frustrated and we need some new suggestions on how to move forward with this transition.
