Question
I'm feeling guilty. In the last couple of months my son has been in trouble with the police,(for shoplifting) and at school. Home life has been very difficult. I have made him take responsibility, but he blames me for taking him and the merchandise back to the store, that banned him from the mall and contacted the police. I reached out to a couple of friends and told them what was going on and one of them told her son that my son could not come over because of the stealing. My son is hurt because of this. My son has told all his friends what he is up too, but apparently they are "chill" with it and some of those kids have told their mums, who have in turn contacted me. My son feels like I have betrayed his trust by telling the parent. How should I handle this? I think the stealing has stopped, but only recently.
