Question
I have a two year old daughter and a daughter about to turn five. The five year old is increasingly whiny and angry and has started hitting and kicking. We put her in her room until she has calmed down and apologizes to whomever she has hit/kicked/etc. She is consistently grumpy and pitches a fit over EVERYTHING now. She has also recently started saying that she hates us (parents) or that things and people are disgusting and such. Some of this has likely been picked up from school but I want to effectively nip it in the bud now. I can certainly put her in her room, but our schedule may render that less effective since we get up and dressed, head to school/work, and then have about two hours for dinner, baths, and bedtime routine during the week.
