Perfecting Aim in Potty Training

Question

My son was potty trained since the time he turned 2, about 3 months ago. He's done well overall but a continuing problem has been that he dribbles on the way to the little potty sometimes and when he is seated he doesn't aim properly, uses his hands to hold his penis and urine goes many different directions and all over his hands. He's not really paying attention to what he's doing but he's getting it done for the most part and this doesn't happen every day. Early on I told him to aim down into the potty and let go of himself but he's never really done that. Because most of his business goes into the potty and he always takes the initiative to go, I never really felt it was too much of a problem or that at some point he would just start doing it right but it's been several months of the same, not getting worse but not getting better and we are regularly cleaning up the floor and his shorts together without any indication that he is 'getting it'. I'm not really sure how to up the ante to make him take more care when he uses the potty or if it's just a matter of more time as he matures?
