Question
I am totally convinced my 9yr old son can learn self control through the methods talked about here. He does relatively well at school and when he is separate from his twin younger siblings (5yr old). The problems is he has absolutely no impulse control and when he is off medication, he acts nuts and keeps hurting his siblings. Because of this, my wife and I feel like he needs to be on medication (vyvanase and Tenex to control tics) for the time being. The stress in the house is off the charts with conflict constantly. He doesn't listen to anything we say, especially when we took him off the medication for a few days.
Can his brain learn impulse control. If so, how long will it take if we adhere to the guidance here. He has none now, so I can't image how long it would take for his brain to learn it.
