Question
How can I make my 6yr old (only child) understand he can have many friends and not just one? He tends to become obsessive about a friend that he really is keen about. We had a problem last year at school with a particular kid that our son would always want to be around and actually became bossy/possessive over him. This school year, it tends to be repeating itself. We are living abroad so we don't have many friends here or family. There are a couple of friends we see occasionally however. Is this a phase that 6yr old boys go through? How can I help him to understand this behavior is not appropriate? Thank you
