Question
We've read the article "Fail-Safe Formula for Getting Kids to Eat Everything".
Our 3 year old takes his sweet time eating at every meal, irregardless of consequences, exciting things to do with friends, taking food away when done, mom & dad leave the table (which he doesn't like), naps after, etc. All over the course of the last few months.
We just tried about 4 days of when we're done eating and if he's not we take the food away and he doesn't get anything else till the next meal. The first two days were a little rough, day 3 was better, and on day 4 he was 'starving' based on how much he ate for dinner and him waking saying he's hungry.
Do you have any suggestions on how to get him to stop fiddling, staring/looking at things, sitting, listening, etc instead of eating while there is food in front of him?
