Question
We recently came into some money and plan on sharing our good fortune with our children. Our daughter is in financial straits and will welcome the gift. We plan to give each of her children (18, 14, and 3) smaller gifts, too. The 18-year-old owes people money from unfulfilled orders from her sewing business, less than 1/4 of the amount. How do we suggest she pay them first before spending the money or do we keep our mouths shut? She's already had a job and never paid them back.
