Question
We have twin 7 year old boys (8 in February) who are in 2nd grade. They both struggle in different ways at school with staying on task. We have used daily report cards with their teachers since 1st grade. While initially we saw some general improvement, it still seems like they are nowhere near taking responsibility and stopping the cards. Even though they know and get very upset when they either forget a card or get a no and have to spend the rest of the day in their room and to bed an hour early (except for any outside family commitment), they both continue to let this happen 1-2x per week.
We started with one boy in the fall 2015 and tried to quit in late January, but it backfired, so we finished out the 1st grade year with them. He started 2nd grade and we soon realized that we needed to start the cards again after a few weeks.
The other boy started cards in January 2016 of 1st grade and we started with him again a couple months into the first semester of 2nd grade and still going.
