Toilet training setback.

My 35 month oldest son was potty trained via John's method for poops in one week, pees 3 months (started at 30 months). He has recently begun voiding purposefully in his room during timeouts. When I discover it, I show no reaction, but he takes pride and gets excited about cleaning it (with the spray bottle). Keep ignoring and let him clean it?

Also, he turns 3 next week. Is it too early to begin the ticket system? I think I read earliest start at 3 years, 6 months, but I believe he would get it. Timeouts in the corner are ineffective for him, but going to his barren room is highly effective. I feel like a broken record already with tasks and nagging...and he's not even 3.
