Question
Our 14 year old daughter was caught beginning to give oral sex to a 14 year old boy she likes. We are horrified. She has been raised in a Christian, 2-parent home and knows our values. I don't understand why she would do this, and I don't think she understands either. We are punishing her for lying about her whereabouts, and are going to be extremely careful about her supervision going forward. We've talked to her about the implications of the behavior and about sexually transmitted diseases. I told her to research this topic and write a 2 page paper on what she found. She said she wouldn't do it, she already knows, and so forth. I am considering more consequences due to her refusal to do this, but am unsure how to proceed. More than anything, we want to help her make good decisions in the future.
