Question
I would like advice on how to address grades with my 11-year old son. During the past few years he has been on the A/B honor roll or just shy from it. This year his grades are inconsistent. One week he will get an A on a test and the next week it will be an F in the same subject. He is more than capable of making better grades. I don't expect all As but I do require Cs or above. What are suitable consequences for the the Ds and Fs? Should the consequences be for the weekly grades (individual tests) or when report cards are issued? Even though his grades were all over the place during the first 9 weeks, he came home with Bs and Cs. I am extremely frustrated with the situation.
