My question relates to table manners. I have a four year old, a six year old and an eight year old. Try as I might - through modelling, talking to them about it and even on occasion reading etiquette books to them at the dinner table - I have been largely unsuccessful in this area with my children. My eldest cannot for the life of her - it seems - keep her mouth shut while eating. She is not very good at and often unwilling to try and use the knife and fork properly. My middle child is also not great at using her knife and fork and can't seem to sit still while eating. I often remove her chair and get her to stand. My youngest is probably best with his knife and fork - but lacking in all other areas of good table manners. Any hints on how I can improve this situation please?
