Home Alone!

Question

Hi, John and friends. Last week, my 8 yo daughter was home alone for ten minutes. During that time, she managed to set off our house alarm and was scared. She ran outside and had a neighbor call my cell phone. One neighbor stood with her and I was home within four minutes (literally!). Now, she is very skittish and scared to be in our house. She does her best not to come inside and willingly comes with me on errands as it is time away from the home! My husband and I have tried to be sensitive and explain that we understand why she was scared, but that she was the one who set off the alarm and nobody was trying to break into our home. We have pointed out how many people helped her in her "time of need". How can we help her overcome her fear without letting her give in to the bad habits she is trying to create?
