Question
My 23 month old daughter has been using the potty successfully for two months now. She even uses the big potty unassisted when she feels like it. Problem is, she now feels that the potty is optional and chooses to have accidents. It started out with just the occasional accident, but now it's quite frequent at home and always on the go. She refuses to sit, saying she doesn't need to go, then 2 minutes later has an accident. She uses a cloth pull up when we are on the go, which was working great, but has now started to use it as a diaper. I have avoided punishment, but am wondering if she needs a consequence, or perhaps, a reward when she does use the potty. What do you suggest?
