Question
I have a very bright 7-year old step-grandson, "Jake," whose parents have been divorced since he was 2. After every visitation with his dad, his mom grills him to determine whether her ex has done something grievous. This has turned Jake into a tattletale of the greatest magnitude. When staying with step-grandma, he is sure to tell his mom something which will set her off. At no time has Jake been neglected or the victim of abuse. He has now taken to tattling on any indiscretion he observes, getting everyone stirred up. Even though I love Jake, it's hard to be around him, wondering if I'm going to "get in trouble" with his mom for letting him do normal, age-appropriate activities. Any suggestions?
