Question
Our 4.5 year old son is incapable of playing by himself. He either bothers his brother or lays on the floor and whines for me to play with him. I limit tv to one hour a day and we do not have ipads or a computer for them. How can we teach him to play by himself? His preschool recommended social pragmatic therapy to encourage him to play well with others, but first he needs to learn to play by himself. How long is too long to expect him to play by himself at first- 10 min, 20 min, and hour? I should be able to fold laundry, cook dinner, or pay bills without him whining next to me. Help!
