To Melinda S.Norris, who just answered my question, which you titled "No Soda Pop?" My mother did not leave her garage door open, he quietly went in to get the soda, without permission. And yes, she is going to move the soda, as you suggested, but in my opinion, she should not have to do this. The soda is in a refrigerator in her garage. Would you move things in your garage to make sure it is not taken? She should not have to move anything, it is her home. These boys need to understand that they cannot just go onto someone's property & take something that does not belong to them, regardless of whether that person is relation or not. I was asking how to handle the situation, since I am the step parent with little authority, while the boys father chooses to overlook it thinking it is ok since it was their step grandmother. This is an issue of morals & ethics, not worrying about whether they can have soda or not.
