6 year old bedwetting

Question

Our 6yo has been wetting the bed every night for about a month. Before this it was only 1-2x a month. The increase has coincided with our efforts to crack down on discipline using your methods, so I'm not sure whether it's a form of passive defiance or if it's really somehow out of her control. She tested negative for bladder infection. She claims that it happens in her sleep but I'm not sure I believe that - I think she doesn't want to get up during the night and would rather sleep in a wet bed. She fights us to not go potty right before bed, and that is one of the things she must cooperate with for 14 days to start getting her stuff back. We spoke to the Doctor who told us she needs to go to bed early and not watch tv - hasn't helped. Now I'm thinking we need to talk to the Doctor again and he will recommend no sugar for children who can't get up at night to go potty. Also a 50 cent fine per incident out of her allowance (she gets $6 a week) to cover all the extra energy, water, soap, and work this costs me. What do you suggest?
