My husband and I are seniors (69, 64yrs.) who adopted our twin grandchildren from birth. They are now 7 yrs. old and in 2nd grade. My concern/complaint is the type and amount of homework they are required to do daily. In kindergarten they were required to read a book and do a book report plus journal! They couldn't even read. Their homework sessions can last up to 12 midnight. I'm not exaggerating! We're all exhausted and frustrated. Common Core is the State's Standardized Educational program. Other parents have voiced the same concerns. What can I do to help my children?
