Question
My 11yo 6th gr. daughter is begging to wear make-up. I think 11 is young for make-up, but I have noticed that her friends are all wearing it. In the spirit of compromise, I am allowing her to wear mascara and lip gloss. Now, (suprise!) she is asking for more (esp. eye shadow). Would it be better to agree and allow her to wear a few light shades of my choosing, or hold ground and risk that she might share her friends' make-up in school and end up looking like a clown or worse, getting pink-eye or something. If the latter, what age is appropriate to start? If it makes a difference, she is a mature and responsible child but small for her age and therefore a bit young-looking.
