Question
My 16 1/2 year-old just totaled the hand-me-down car she has had for exactly one month. Thankfully, everyone is all right; she just misjudged her clearance on a turn. She works in the family business and pays for all her gas. We told her from the get-go that she would pay for any accident. Our thoughts are she needs to start saving for her next car no matter how inconvenient that is. Suggested she start asking friends to carpool and pay them gas money in the meantime. What do you think of this and also how do we handle it if she asks us to start taking her to and from school, which, having just gained two hours back in our daily schedule, we are not inclined to do.
