5-yo Separation Anxiety?

Question

My five year old just entered kindergarten 2 weeks ago. She was extremely excited the first day but by day 5, she was crying that she didn't want to go to school. We are at the end of week two and every morning, there is some sadness that she has to go to school. Usually by the end of the week, she cries more in the mornings. At school, she is crying for about 10 minutes in the morning. Her teacher said that she is "the most sad" of the 3 kids that have been missing their mommies. She has been in 1/2 day preschool for the last 3 years. I know why she is having issues - 7 hour day, less play, more work, meeting new friends (she can be shy at first but does make good friends), etc. but I am trying to figure out how to nip the crying in the morning - at home and school. Maybe I can't and she's going to have to learn to work through it and accept that she's in school. She also has too much homework already in my opinion but that's a whole different email!
