Question
My 5 year old son is a relatively low mishaver. Time-out typically works "in the moment", but does not deter future misbehaving (i.e. whining, not doing what he is told the first time he is told, lying, egging on his 2 year old brother to misbehave etc...) I have looked at the tickets method, but wonder if it is too harsh for a low misbehaving child? I know I am leaning toward being milquetoast, and just need the encouragement to go forward. I want to begin with 1 behavior; however, my husband wants to go straight for 3 off the bat. What should we do? Do you recommend any other type of discipline method in this instance?
