Question
My 4 year old is loud, rough, and in my 11 month olds face (playing rough) as soon as the baby hits the room. It lasts about five minutes and then the baby is hurt. I tell the 4 yr. old he can play nicely with the baby and he says ok. It's like he escalates and looses control. He pushes him over, and laughs about it, he lays down on the floor so the baby will trip over him, he picks him up a little and slings him around. I can't do anything when they are both in the same room. I've been to a psychologists who supports your methods and I am really at a loss. My 4 yr. old also is very angry when I'm around, he loudly says no to going into timeout and when I insist he kicks me as he walks by and throws things. I noticed today as soon as he came back from a visit to grandparents he started being verbally mean and loud to me even on the way home. It is really getting worse. Relatives say he's pretty good when the baby and I aren't around, maybe jealousy and sibling rivalry, but abuse I can't tolerate, and I can't stop it!!! Please help me.
