Question
I have read Ending the Homework Hassle and Ritalin is Not the Answer and have been applying the advice for my 5th grader with great succcess. However, I am disappointed to find that both stop short when the topic of dealing with learning disabilities and homework frustration is a factor. I don't want to "hover" but my son needs extensive help. I get so frustrated dealing with this everyday. Do I send him to timeout when he is stuck and wants to give up? Hire a tutor? Stage a homework boycott?? I would really appreciate some concrete advice because this is putting a huge strain on the family.
