Aggression and the Ticket System

Question

My son will be 4 next month. The 2s and 3s were fairly uneventful for us- nothing beyond your typical discipline issues that were quickly nipped. Several weeks ago, however, he began getting angry and throwing huge tantrums- including hitting, spitting on, and shoving his dad and me. It began as a bedtime issue but now surfaces at others times of the day. Yesterday, he hit his babysitter- so the issue is beyond just our family. I am wanting to implement the ticket system, but I know Rosemond says that any aggressive act towards a parent means you lose all tickets immediately.
1) How can I implement the system for this behavior if the issue IS aggressive acts (hitting, kicking, etc)?
2) The behavior typically occurs right at bedtime. If he loses all tickets at night, does he start over the next day, or should he have to stay in his room until lunch since there was no time for consequences at bedtime?
Thank you!
