Question
Every time I tell my 3 1/2 year old to do something (ex: put your cup up on the table more instead of on the edge, don't jump around in the kitchen, etc.) she crosses her arms and grunts. Or she will swat at me or stomp on the floor. She gets so angry so quickly at everything that doesn't go right within 3 seconds of trying. (Ex: putting on her shoes, putting on her shirt, etc.). We put her in timeout when she does these things but it's not working. We try ignoring the behavior but that doesn't work either. What are some techniques we can use to help her not be so angry when corrected or when things don't go right for her?
