Question
Four years ago I adopted an older child who is now almost 14 yrs. old. I am a single mother. He can be a delightful person, but I am seeing less and less of this. I keep him busy in a variety of sports and he hangs out at the mall, the Rec centre and with friends. He often has his phone or privileges taken away as consequences. Last night I found plans on his Instagram page that he was planning to shoplift today. I phoned the store to tell them, but haven't heard anything. When he first came to me, he was aggressive towards me and while I was able to get that under control, I believe it is still there. He is often-daily defiant and disrespectful. He lies a lot. He hates going to his room and I can't physically move him. I don't let him know that I am afraid of him. What should I do?
