Question
Recently our 2 1\2 year old daughter has been wanting us to stay with her until she falls asleep. Normally she reads her books and we tuck her in and that's it. We have done this for about a week. Last night she was still wide awake so I told her I was going on to bed and left. She cut a complete fit and lasted 40 min. Saying mommy need you can't see you. I went back a couple of times though I think it made it worse. I don't want her to cry herself to sleep every night. Is this a phase? Am I expecting too much from her to leave her to put herself to bed at this age? Also when she is waking at night we are having to go in as well. Remind me why she needs to be able to do this. I am guilt stricken and pray I haven't put too Much on her.
