Question
We have been using the ticket system to target our 3 1/2 year old daughter's disobedience. On the occasions that she has lost all 5 tickets and is sent to her minimally entertaining room, it does not seem to have a significant enough impact on her to serve as a deterrent for future occasions. She finds a way to entertain herself, often physically jumping around the room (off the bed or nightstand) or getting into her closet and putting on layers of clothes. In full disclosure, I also feel occasional guilt pangs for sending her to solitary and worry about a negative consequence from that. Is there another means to enforce the loss of the last ticket that will be an effective deterrent?
