UPDATE for Sarah: Thanks for your last answer. It is incredibly helpful every single time you give me feedback.
The update is that my son's dad and I have now physically separated. I'm very kid illiterate and I have nothing to compare to, but from what I can tell, he is doing pretty well. ....considering. You mention how we will be revisiting the moving out topic again and again. At this point he (4 y.o.) will ask on occasion if his dad can join us in some sort of activity.....going for ice cream, going on vacation. He hasn't seemed to have any regression in potty training or in his speech (as he's delayed in that area).
Unfortunately his dad and I will be filing for divorce soon. I hate being a statistic. But.....I regret having not done it sooner.
