Question
Our 8-YO son reads after lights-out. This on its own wouldn't bug us much (wanting to read is a good problem to have, we know!), but he also comes out of his room fairly often to "use the bathroom" and other such excuses for not leaving us alone. When we catch him at it, he gets dramatic and tells us "It's very hard to quit" and claims he won't do it again....only to have us catch him 20 minutes later. He's taken to putting a pair of black pants across the base of his door so we can't see the light shining under there. It seems like an attention-getting thing. How do we put a stop to this and get our evenings back?
